Dead Rising Game Free
Zombie Genocider
- Dead Rising is one of the most beloved zombie franchises in recent gaming history, but the arrival of Dead Rising 4 hasn’t all been fun and games – bugs, crashes, fan favourite content being.
- Dead Rising follows the harrowing tale of Frank West, an overly zealous freelance photojournalist on a hunt for the scoop of a lifetime. In pursuit of a juicy lead, he makes his way to a small.
Combined with beat ‘em up gameplay and hundreds of different items to use against the hordes, the series’ best psycopath bosses and mall setting and a ton of endings and secrets, Dead Rising still holds up today for both newcomers to the franchise and returning fans like me indulging in some gory nostalgia. Currently I'm playing through Infinity Mode in the original Dead Rising, and I'm looking for a way to pass the time. So here's my personal ranking of the Dead Rising games, from worst to best. Keep in mind that this is just my opinion.
8.) Dead Rising Mobile Many people may not know this, but there actually was a mobile game based on the original Dead Rising game. While it's not on the iPhone App Store anymore, there may be other places to acquire it that I don't know of. Regardless, this mobile game was pretty bad. Decent time waster, but very dull with terrible graphics and playability.
7.) Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop This was actually the first Dead Rising game that I owned and completed. I had played the original at a friend's house and loved it but was too stubborn to go out and spend $250 on an Xbox 360, so I got the Wii version. While CTYD certainly isn't bad, it's a huge step down in every aspect from its predecessor, very repetitive and boring at times, and is easily the weakest console game in the franchise.
6.) Dead Rising 2: Case Zero I had a ton of fun with this game. For the $5 asking price it's a complete steal, with well over six hours of content and replayability. And while it's short length and scale put it a bit higher on the list, it's an amazing game worth picking up.
5.) Dead Rising 2: Case West In a sense, this is kind of an upgraded version of Case Zero (albeit with a much more engaging plot). While the facility in this game is kind of boring and not very colorful or enjoyable to play in (as apposition to previous titles), it has a ton of new weapons, really expands the plot of Dead Rising 2 in an interesting way, and for hours of content the $10 pricetag is great.
4.) Dead Rising 3 Bear in mind that 4, 3 and 2 on this list are almost a three way tie. I love this game (contrary to many DR fans) and would argue that the gameplay was largely improved from previous titles. That said, Dead Rising 3 took away the beauty and color of the Dead Rising series, putting us in a boring and rather uninspired generic city. Traversing the map felt more like a chore than anything else, and the story and characters were a serious step down from the previous games. There's also the removal of the time limit and overpowered combat that made this game feel incredibly easy, especially after leveling up. Still, there's no denying that this game is a ton of fun, has crazy weapons that are awesome to experiment with, and the sheer amount of zombies is straggering.
Best Dead Rising Games
3.) Dead Rising 2 This is an amazing game and a very worthy and faithful sequel to the original. The vibrant world and new adult themes further expanded on the concepts if the original. Unfortunately, it fell short just a bit for me in that the story felt much less intense and the overall game was significantly less difficult. In the original I always felt on edge, like I was really in that mall. That didn't happen this time around.
2.) Dead Rising 2: Off the Record Despite the ridiculous plot and kind if wonky Saints Row-esque feel of this game, it's an absolute masterpiece. It took everything about Dead Rising 2 and improved on it, adding in a long awaited Sandbox Mode to boot, giving us a much more fleshed out and polished game.
1.) Dead Rising Where do I start with this fantastic game? After all these years, it still lives up in every aspect to just about every zombie game I've ever played. It's one of the only games that gives me a genuine intense feel: despite always having a good time and enjoying the vibrant world, colorful characters and intriguing story, I was always terrified. The sheer amount of pressure that this game puts on you at all times is astounding. This is certainly not a 'comfy' game, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Replaying it makes me miss the days when video games were actually difficult. The original stands tall above all the others, and I doubt any sequel will ever top it.
So there's my list. Hopefully Dead Rising 4 will end up somewhere near the top, though I'm almost certain it won't beat the original, atleast for me.
